An incredibly rare find: double set of stacking flasks plus two stacking beakers all cased together in a lovely zippered saddle leather case. Each highly polished chrome flask holds an amazing 20 ounces of... your favorite adult beverage. With two flasks, that's enough to share with a whole passel of your closest drinking friends, or the hunters, the hounds, AND the fox! There are also two chrome beakers or stirrup cups. Each chrome piece is marked "MADE IN GERMANY US ZONE" on the bottom. In addition, the two beakers are gilt-washed inside and have a maker's mark of AHS in the center of the Made in Germany stamp. The case is marked on the bottom:
CASH (or CASE or CADE, can't quite read it)

This set was made in Germany between 1945 and 1949, and likely was an attempt to fill the void for luxury goods that both England and America were beginning to crave after WWII. Given the size and volume of the flasks, these pieces were probably created either for one of the English hunts that were still active after the war, or for a polo aficionado. However you don't need to ride to the hounds or have a string of polo ponies in order to enjoy having a bar-full of easily portable potables on hand! This set would do equally well at a tailgate party, picnic, lakeside campfire, or even a New England clam bake!

Each flask is 6 1/2" tall, and holds 20 ounces. Each beaker is 3 1/2" tall. The zippered leather case is 13 1/2" tall, and both flasks and both beakers fit inside snugly.

Condition: Excellent vintage.

Some wear and staining, and some repair to the leather case. Original zipper has been replaced, and strap handle has been re-stitched. These repairs were done by a professional cobbler.

Flask and beakers are solid and sturdy, with absolutely no leaks. No dents or dings, but small scratches and patches commensurate with age. Lid on one flask has lost the clamping mechanism which keeps it attached to the flask. See photos for details on condition.

Note on storage: This stacking set fits VERY snugly inside the case. To get everything in, slide the flasks in the body of the case, then stack the beakers and slide them into the lid. Close the lid and zip it up. (See photo illustrating this.)
